A student active at Hillel BGU requested to do an internship with Hillel. As it turns out, the BGU School of Management did not have an internship program and the Management and Business students were craving opportunities to gain experience in their field of study. Following the students' initiative, Hillel BGU, together with the School of Management at BGU, developed a pilot internship program at Hillel. From the students' perspective, Hillel as an international, well-respected nonprofit can provide them with valuable experience. From Hillel's perspective, this is an opportunity to introduce more students to Hillel and our work and expand the social networks we reach. The student interns get to know Hillel and mobilize their peers to be part of the organization.
Last semester we piloted the program and this year (2014-2015) the program will work in cooperation with five other organizations in Be'er Sheva and will receive full support of the School of Management at Ben Gurion University.
Three interns were selected to intern in the following fields:
- Marketing and PR
The interns will be trained by Hillel's local and national staff and by professors from the BGU School of Management and will be closely supervised by Hillel BGU's Director.
