  • Alon Friedman

    Alon Friedman assumed the position of Director General of Hillel Israel in August 2012. From 2008-2012, Alon served as Director of Israel Operations for MASA. Prior to his position with MASA, Alon was the Executive Director of the Hadassah WUJS Institute in Arad. Between 2001 and 2004, Alon served as the Young Judaea Shaliach (Israeli representative) in New York, responsible for recruitment and training of pro-Israel students on campuses across the United States. Alon was born in Tel Aviv, raised in Jerusalem, and served as an officer in the Israeli Army. He holds an MA in Communications and Journalism and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Alon resides in Tel Aviv with his wife, Joni and their 3 children.




  • Rabbi Yossie Goldman

    Rabbi Yossi Goldman has worked for Hillel Israel since 1986.  In his first role, he was the Director of Hillel Jerusalem. Beginning in 1994, Rabbi Goldman simultaneously founded Hillel Centers in the Former Soviet Union, and ten years later fostered the establishment and growth of 27 Hillel Centers in seven countries of the FSU.  Rabbi Goldman founded and was responsible for the expansion of Hillel Israel over the years and supervised the creation of ten centers in universities and colleges across the country. Today, Rabbi Goldman is entrusted to establishing new Hillel centers in Western Europe, particularly in Germany, France and Belgium. Rabbi Goldman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting and a Master's Degree in Hebrew Literature. He was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary and holds two honorary Doctorate Degrees from The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York and the International Solomon University in Kiev, Ukraine.Rabbi Goldman, his wife Judy and their four children made aliya from the United States in 1985 and he and Judy currently live in Jerusalem.


  • Yosef Epstein

    Yosef Epstein is the Associate Director of Finance for Hillel Israel, supervising its financial and administrative affairs. He has worked as a financial consultant to both profit and non-profit organizations in the US and in Israel, the financial manager of a Judaica company, a real estate development group director of finance and marketing, and a financial advisor to a local supermarket chain. Yosef began working for Hillel Israel in 1997, at which time there was only one center in Jerusalem. He supervised the changeover of Hillel Israel from a foreign non-profit corporation to the approved and certified Israel non-profit Charitable Company structure that it is today. He received his MBA from Yale University's School of Organization and Management, his MA in Jewish History and his BA in Economics, both from Yeshiva University. Yosef and his wife live in Jerusalem and together they derive much nachas from their active community- minded children and several happy, energetic and fun grandchildren.




  • Nati Szczupak

    Nati has served as Associate Director for Content Development in Hillel Israel since September 2011. Before joining Hillel Israel she served as Director of Program Professional Development at Hillel International in Washington, DC. In the years 2007 – 2009 Nati was an Israel Fellow at Hillel Uruguay. Her work in Uruguay earned her the honor of being chosen as The Jewish Agency's "2009 Outstanding Emissary."  Before joining Hillel she directed a center for youth at risk in Rehovot. Nati studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is fluent in Hebrew, English and Spanish.  




  • Esther Abramowitz

    Esther lives in Jerusalem and feels blessed to work for Hillel.  She started her career with Hillel at the University of Maryland, then the University of Pennsylvania.  She has been with Hillel in Israel since 1990.  In her years at Hillel she has produced plays, worked with student leaders studying at Hebrew U, traveled to Poland with students for March of the Living, traveled to the Former Soviet Union many times and has met over 1500 Taglit-Birthright Israel: Hillel buses in Israel.  She holds a Masters in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Jewish Studies.  Her passions are cooking, traveling, women’s issues, Jewish life, design, novel reading and relationship - building.




  • Esti Schloss

    Esti Schloss officially started working for Hillel International in Israel as the Taglit-Birthright Israel: Hillel Coordinator in January 2012, but was active in Hillel since 2005 as an undergraduate student. Esti graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Studio Art in 2009 and served on the Hillel Board twice. She then received her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Community Organizing from The Wurzweiler School of Social Work Block Program in 2011. Esti made aliyah from New York in 2010 and loves that she has found her home in Israel and in Hillel.


  • Lena Shterman

    Lena was born and raised in Perm, Russia. She studied at the University in Moscow where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics. Lena took an active part in Hillel Moscow life, staffing Birthright Israel groups and leading seminars and training. In 2013 Lena came to Israel for 10 months on MASA's Melamedia program. In April 2014 she made aliya to Jerusalem and started working as Program Coordinator, Global Hillel Israel.

    Camille made aliya in 2008 from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She came to Hillel Israel in 2013 after working for five great years for Young Judaea Year Course.Camille feels lucky to live in Jerusalem with her husband, Rob, and their kids, Avinoam, Dalya and Elle.

    Heli has been the Director of Hillel at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for the past nine years. She started her Hillel journey in 1999, first as a student participant, then a student leader, group facilitator, Program Coordinator and Program Director. During the years she established and directed numerous national, social and cultural projects.
    Heli is a Hebrew University alumna, chairs The Jerusalem Forum for Jewish Renewal, advises and is a board member of several social activism foundations.
    Heli is married to Eli Bareket, the mother of four, lives and is socially active in Jerusalem and its surroundings.

    Elad has been the Program Director at Hillel at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since March 2017. He has been involved in the field of Jewish informal education since 2006 in different roles and programs within The Ramah movement and The Jewish Agency for Israel.  A Jerusalemite and Hebrew U graduate, Elad holds a BA in Education and Political Science, a Teachers certificate, and soon will hold an MA degree in Education Management, Policy & Leadership.

    Nilli has been the Director of Hillel at IDC Herzliya since September 2014. Before that she was Program Director at Hillel at Tel Aviv University for almost three years. Between 2008 and 2010 she was a Jewish Agency Israel Fellow for Hillel at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Nilli holds an MA in the History of Israel and a BA in the History of Israel and Studies of The Land of Israel from Bar Ilan University. She volunteers on the steering committee of Limmud TLV and has participated in various Beit Midrash programs including Kolot Fellows and Beit Midrash Heder MiShelach at the Hartman Institute. Nilli lives with her family in Rehovot.


Hillel at Ben Gurion University

    Pola has been the Director of Hillel at Ben-Gurion University since August 2015. Previously she worked for two years as Program Coordinator for Zachor v'Kabed and "Phoenix" at Hillel BGU. Pola is fluent in Russian and was introduced to Hillel through her participation in Hillel BGU's delegation to Belarus and Lithuania in 2013, which triggered her interest in both learning more about the Holocaust and Jewish life. Today she is an MBA student in the Mandel Program for Social Leadership at BGU. She has BA in Political Science and Management from BGU. Before joining Hillel she was a commander in Nativ, an IDF Jewish Zionist Identity Program for Immigrant Soldiers, which provides the structural framework to ensure the full integration of these new immigrants into Israeli society – both in the army and everyday life. She brings to the position a vast network and experience working with Russian-speaking Israelis

    Yochai has been Director of Hillel at sapir College since february 2016.
    Yochai is originally from Dimona and now resides in Beer Sheva. He is a social activist and an entrepreneur. Yochai has a bachelor's degree in communication and journalism from Sapir Academic College and he is currently completing his master's degree in business management at Ben-Gurion University. Yochai has vast experience in education; among other things he taught a class for youth in Yerucham and was the Director of the Ayalim Student Village in Dimona.

    Anna has been with Hillel since March 2014. She is an educational consultant and program developer, collaborating on numerous international projects in informal education, community building and social entrepreneurship. Anna was born in Kiev, Ukraine and has lived in Israel from the age of 11. Her experience on an Israel advocacy mission turned into a fifteen-year career in informal Jewish education, leading programs, training and learning from others in Israel, the FSU and North America. Upon completing her army service as lieutenant with honors, Anna held positions in Oranim College of Education and The Jewish Agency for IsraeI. She spent three years in NY as Israeli Emissary, focusing on community organizing and program development for FSU Émigrés.  Upon her return to Israel, she co- founded “Katra - Experiential Learning “ and "Platforma - International Summit for RSJ Community Initiators."
    Anna considers her expertise the ability to train others in creating exciting and meaningful initiatives on Jewish identity and culture. Anna holds an MBA in Non-Profit Management, a B.A. in Human Services and Political Science, both from Haifa U, and a kid in each arm.

    Daniella became Director of Hillel at Tel -Hai Academic College in October 2014. Daniella joined Hillel Tel -Hai soon after returning from serving as an Israel Fellow of the Jewish Agency for Israel in Saskatchewan, Canada. As part of her work as an Israel Fellow, Daniella engaged all members of the community, from children and infants to adults and the elderly. Among other things, she worked with the University of Saskatchewan Hillel team where she was introduced to Hillel's global operations. Daniella graduated with honors with a degree in "Culture - Creation & Production" from Sapir Academic College.
