Hillel at Haifa U and Technion is Strengthening the Global Hillel Movement

by Hillel Israel | Jan 10, 2017
We are overjoyed  that Hillel at Haifa University and the Technion and MIT Hillel had won the “Award for Strengthening the Global Hillel Movement” at the Hillel International Global Assembly for the ConnecTech program!

A hearty mazal tov to Anna Vainer and Yael Frank from Hillel Technion and Rabbi Michelle Fisher and Marissa Freed from MIT Hillel for their labor of love crafting and sustaining such a innovative endeavour for students from both schools

One of our Technion students shared,“This program has given me the opportunity to ask myself questions that I used to avoid asking…for the first time I have gotten in touch with my Jewish identity as a separate part from my Israeli identity. I learned that being a Jew is belonging to a group of people with many differences and views in almost every aspect of life.” ConnecTech is a year-long fellowship which is now in its fourth year. The primary focus is on student interaction; creating personal bonds between small core groups of students at each Institute, and strengthening a sense of Jewish Peoplehood and deepening their commitment to it.

ConnecTech is supported by Combined Jewish Philanthropies’ Boston-Haifa Connection.
