Volunteering with Holocaust survivors - Hanukkah‬ 2014

Spreading the light of ‪‎Hanukkah! 80 students from Hillel BGU were divided into groups and visited the homes of Holocaust survivors in Beer Sheva. Together they spent the second night of the holiday lighting candles, eating sufganiyot and visiting together. We are not sure who enjoyed this experience more- the elderly or the students!

This volunteering event was part of Zachor v'Kabed, a national ‪Hillel project which combines study sessions and volunteering with and for Holocaust survivors in Israel. The project operates in Hillels across Israel and is supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
